Trip to munnar,kerala

Hi there readers....it me again with my trip experience  to munnar..the highest hill ranges of kerala....

It was a family trip in may 2015.....we packed and started of from my home by the morning about 8 o clock...and it was a nice and sunny day...we started our trip early so that we could get there by evening or else the high range areas will be covered with fog and it will be difficult  to  drive....

It was one heck of a drive for about over 6 hours ..we stopped at kottarakkara and few of our family members joined us from there...then we set out for kottayam...and we reached there by noon...and stopped for lunch...we our lunch ..some of them from a hotel..but for us my mom packed enough food for us..after a delightful lunch we then set out for our next checkpoint that is adimali...which is the valley of munnar hills...it was a little long drive ..to there...at adimali we reached about evng...and had a strong tea and a bite of snacks..we had ourselves refreshed  with a brew and continued to climb the hills of munnar...the roads vere curved with hair pin turns and was covered with fog..headlights were shone bright to see the roads clearly..we saw many narrow waterfalls  and the boards said the water was fit for drinking..
Many tourist vehicles stopped by the watrfalls and were crowded with people

There we stopped stretched our legs and continued to munnar hill station...we reached up hill by 7 o clock in the evening...then me and my cousin head out to hunt for rooms for the night stay...and we found a large bedroom which was affordable  and comfortable  for all of our family members...we settled there for the night........

The next morning  it was early rise for everyone to get ready...we were up and ready by 8.00am in the morning..and we drew our luggages into our car...and set out to a good restaurant for breakfast...we were satisfied in a nearby restaurant  and had our breakfast and we were off to see munnar...we visited most of the tourist  attractions  in munnar like rose gardens...mattupetti ..the dam...etc...saying about the dam ...it is one of a view from the top of the reservior...with soft breeze ...we were chilled both mind and body..

Our time was limited and we were in a hurry...so we continued our journey to the cardamom plantation of our distant relative...they had a wonderful  estate over there..by the farm..the place is so fresh and bliss with sweet smell of cardamom flowers..

We then went for a small trekkming down the farm...we went across the farm..down to an awesome valley with waterfall ..and huge rocks with deep pits..in which stagnant water made pools..

We returned to the estate by about afternòon and had our lunch from the estate..after having lunch we were planning to visit the pazhani temple of lord muruga in tamil nadu...it was on the other side of munnar..on the way we had pine fruits

..we reached pazhani by the evening..and had made darshanam by about 8 o clock...the 1008 steps in pazhani temple is stunning...and..lord muruga in all his glory...we made offerings  and collected  the holy panchamritam...about 8.30 we were down the 1008 stairs...and went through a big market..of fruits..and veggies at low prices...we bought some guava...to have while our way back home..and...set out back home...the next day early morning we reached back home...freshned up and had a long nap.....zzz.z...zz...z....z.

Trip to kuttanad

Hey readers...this is my first post on my trip to kuttanad...the rice bowl of  kerala

About the place..it is the only place below sea level..and one of its kind...it is located in the district of alaphuzha..in the state of kerala...

We started from karunagappally  by bus to the district  of  alaphuzha and to the land of backwaters by boat service.
But before getting onto the boats to kuttanad..we spent an hour or so in the beach of alapuzha...it is pleasant and one of the most beautiful  beaches  in kerala...the shores were crowded with tourists ....it was mid day noon..but we were feeling so relaxed with sea breeze with smell of salinity

It was about 2 in the afternoon....we are still waiting for the boat..then about 2.30 pm we boarded our boats to kuttanad....as we go through backwaters we can see the paddy fields occuped with paddy just about to harvest...and also we can see many backwater resorts and homestay...toddy bars..and an array of house boats..etc..anfter an long journey of about half an hour or so..we got down at an isolated plot called the R-block with just one toddy bar and a restaurant. .we had our lunch by the restaurant and had our fills with toddy..we waited for other boatsto explore much of kuttanad..but the time was limited that we couldnt see all of kuttanad in just one day...we set back to alappuzha by the boat service...and were back home by night 8 o clock..
It wasnt much of a trip..but atleast we enjoyed it.....
